How to create section view in Perspective by using Revit?
This blog might prove fruitful to those who are quite new to Revit or who have recently started using this dynamic software. Before going in details regarding how to create a section view by using Revit, I would like to ask you a question that is, what is the purpose of using or creating a section view. Or in other words what is a section view? Well, section views are very crucial for BIM modelers, architects & engineers, and even for clients or owners to understand the technicalities or interior details of an object, component, or a family etc. such as walls, doors, or even an entire building.
Section views help in providing clarity regarding the relationships between height and width along with other material details of an object or of the entire building. To put it differently section views provide vital details about materials, height, support systems and other hidden features of a structure or an object.
A brief description of creating section views in Revit
Below is a description or process of how to create building section view in perspective
- To create a section view in perspective, Revit users should first adjust or place camera in your Revit building model.
- After placing camera, the next step would be to select the camera view.
- After that go to ‘view menu’ and click on to ‘View properties.’
- Once Revit users have clicked on to ‘View properties’ they have to select the ‘Section box check box’ from view properties dialog box and click ‘OK’
- After clicking ‘OK’ a section box will automatically display in your drawings.
- What you need to do next is to select this section box which has just been displayed. After that optimize the control grip to pull or drag it in the model. This helps in displaying a cut view.
- So after Revit users have properly fitted the control grips to the required locations for the section cut, they need to hide the section box.
- For hiding the section box, Revit users have to go to ‘View menu’ and should click on to view properties.
- Now from the view properties dialog box they need to clear ‘The Crop Region Visible check box.’ This step finally completes your process.
This is how you can create a section view in perspective by using Revit.
