Structural Steel Shop Drawings for a Multi Residential Project in Australia

Scope

This project was a redesign and extension of a previous project that Tesla CAD Solutions had completed for one part of a multi-residential project. The client decided to redesign the entire project to fix some issues that they had encountered with the air-conditioning work. The scope of work was to produce structural steel shop drawings for the new work as well as modify the existing fascia beam structure.

Block work control drawings

To provide dimensional plan view and elevations/sections through the building to ensure that the preceding trade get the walls correct.

Challenges

• There were several instances of missing information, such as connection types and dimensions, in the drawings we received from the client. We had to raise several RFIs to obtain this information.
• There were several clashes between the structural members in the design. We resolved this by raising RFIs along with our suggestions that can be possible. Client appreciated this proactive approach as this helped in faster resolution of the queries.
