Scope
Our client, an engineering and fabrication company in Australia, approached Tesla CAD Solutions to create structural steel shop drawings and fabrication drawings for a college hub. This included:
- HD Bolt plan
- GA Drawings
- Elevations
- Part Drawings
- Assembly Drawing
- Sections and Details
- Handrail Details
- Truss details
- Bracing Details
- Reports (Assembly List, Part List, Bolt List, etc.)
- .nc Files
Challenges
- The client was initially reluctant to outsource the project overseas. However, with our professionalism and the quality of our deliverables, we were able to complete the project to the satisfaction of the client.
- There were many discrepancies in the design drawings. We had to raise several RFIs to get additional information for the architectural and structural design drawings.
- The response time to our RFIs was very slow which impacted our work flow and the delivery schedule.
- Many design changes were made during the execution period of the project. Tesla had to rework on a substantial portion due to the design changes.
- We assigned additional resources to meet the deadline of the project despite the changes in the design.
