Scan to BIM Services

Tesla CAD Solutions was established over a decade ago in 2010 and since then we have developed all the tools, experiences and skills necessary to offer excellent Point Cloud to CAD Conversion and Scan to BIM Services.

We at Tesla CAD produce comprehensive and information-rich 3D BIM models from point cloud data. We excel at reading point cloud data and creating precise BIM models with accurate tolerance levels. We develop complex components and elements which are not visible in scans by referring to 360 photos, videos and CAD drawings. Our contributions have been vital for the renovation and restoration of heritage buildings, government buildings, old commercial properties, residential apartments and civil infrastructure projects.

We merge modern BIM technologies with an empathy-driven approach to produce agile deliverables and quality outcomes. Our unshakeable focus and efficient user experience make us the main contender among all the companies providing CAD and BIM Services.

Point Cloud to BIM Modelling for

Point Cloud to BIM for Historical Monuments

We have with best results completed projects for old historical monuments, museums and religious structures that have an extreme level of detailing, ornamental modelling, grooves etc. Our experienced team of architects, engineers and scan to BIM modelers work at delivering high end Point Cloud to BIM Services that can be utilized for analysis and developing proposed new models.

Scan to BIM for Civil Structures

We excel at working on civil structures like bridges, tunnels, dams, railroads etc. that need to be redeveloped and renovated after a certain period of time to ensure retention of the structure strength. We are experts at working on captured scanned data from existing structure and converting it into 3D models to perform building analysis and aiding the renovation and retrofit projects.

    FAQs

    1. Why Scan to BIM?

Laser scanning allows to get an accurate representation of the building conditions. As compared to manual surveys laser scanning takes less time and provides more precise results. The point cloud data obtained from 3D laser scanning can be used to create data rich BIM models that accurately depicts the functional and physical aspects of the current building conditions. Scan to BIM can be used for construction documentation, facility management or renovation of buildings.

    2. How do we do a quality check in Scan to BIM Services?

There is no specific software that allows to directly conduct a quality check. We use different options that are available in Revit like quality check plans, sections, elevations with specified elements and views to ensure that the final deliverable given by us is accurate.

    3. How do we model confined zones?

In certain cases, the scans are either not clear or they have a certain crucial parts of the building missing. In this case we use assumptions as per practices, standards and design options to provide a completed BIM model.

    4. What are the basic parameters that can be filled in generic Revit families for Scan to BIM?

The basic parameters that are filled in generic Revit families depend upon the purpose for which the completed BIM model is going to be used for. For example, BIM models created from laser scans for facility management need to be data-rich and must contain requisite information like location of MEP components, manufacturer’s information, asset codes etc. The same level of information might not be required for a BIM models created for documentation purpose.

    5. What are the types of tolerance that can be achieved for Scan to BIM?

In Scan to BIM project there can be there types of defined tolerance that can be achieved for vertical and horizontal deviations i.e low-level of tolerance (60 mm), mid-level of tolerance (30 mm) and high-level (15 mm) tolerance.
